Receives Ag Accomplishment Award

Michael Fogal of Southern Fulton was recently presented the school’s highest agricultural honor, the DeKalb Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by Monsanto Company.

Fogal, the son of Travis and Deneen Fogal, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Fogal’s significant experiences and accomplishments have included placing third in the Fulton County FFA Public Speaking competition, receiving numerous awards for his fair animals and receiving the Warfordsburg FFA Eagle Awrd.

Rebecca Mosemann is Fogal’s agricultural education instructor at Southern Fulton High School.

This year the DeKalb Agricultural Accomplishment Award celebrates its 65th anniversary. Over these 65 years more than 168,000 high school seniors from across the country have received the award, which has become a symbol for excellence and the school’s highest agricultural honor. In 2011 more than 2,000 students from high schools in 49 of the 50 states were recognized with the award.

As the winner of the 2012 award, Fogal’s name will be recorded on a permanent plaque display at Southern Fulton High School.
