Carolene Henneberger Chambersburg, 69
Carolene Henneberger, 69, Chambersburg, and formerly of Waynesboro, died at 8:04 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012, in ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg.
Born April 1, 1943, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Carolene Marquis Layman.
She was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1961.
She and her husband, the late William L. Henneberger, were married June 10, 1961. He preceded her in death February 21, 1979.
She began her working career in the accounting department with several local businesses including Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, and Jerr Dan, Greencastle. Along with her husband, she later owned and operated a ceramic shop in Waynesboro for several years. She later returned to the accounting field where she was employed as the office manage for 92.1 Gold until their demise. She spent her last years, self-employed doing photography and calligraphy work.
She was an active member of Ebenezer Church of the Brethren, Greencastle, Alcoholics Anonymous for 27 years, Red Hat Society and Emerging Women Inc.
She is survived by a son, Christopher L. Henneberger and his wife, Joy, Almont, Mich.; three grandchildren: Lakin Toothman, Krista Henneberger and Matthew Andersen; and two greatgrandchildren: William and Jade.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Mabel Dull.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 28, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Pastor David Grove officiated. Burial was made in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
