Reed Cromer Chambersburg, 78

Reed “Bud” Cromer, 78 of Chambersburg, passed away in York Hospital on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

Born in Ft. Littleton, May 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert Bruce and Estelle Wible Cromer.

A U. S. Army veteran, he servedhis country honorably during the Korean Conflict.

He had been employed at Baltimore Mack, the former Interstate Truck, for more than 41 years, beginning his career in 1971.

He was a member of American Legion Post 46 in Chambersburg. He enjoyed working on small engines, baseball, football and basketball.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Esther Humwood Guyer Cromer, whom he married on November 26, 1983; three stepchildren: Fred “Dusty” Guyer Jr. (wife Sue) of Chambersburg; Michael Guyer of Fayetteville, and LTC Chester “Chet” Guyer (wife Michele) of Fairfax, Va,; seven stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat grandchildren; two siblings: Robert “Boyd” Cromer of Ft. Littleton, and Helen Long of Waterfall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, hewas preceded in death by three sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg. Pastor Ron Cook officiated. Interment was in Norland Cemetery, with military honors provided by members of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard.
