McKinley R. Leasure Warfordsburg, 87

McKinleyR. “Mack” Leasure, Warfordsburg, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital in Bedford.

Born August 1, 1924, in Flickerville, Pa., he was the son of the late Russell and Ethel Smith Leasure.

Hewas a 1942 graduate of Warfordsburg High School.

Hewas a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific, recipient of the good Conduct Medal; Army of Occupation Medal Japan; Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon and WWII Victory Ribbon.

He was a member of Whips Cove Christian Church.

He was formerly employed by Fulton Petroleum Sales, Over the Road Trucking and he was a self-employed farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Norma J. Clark Leasure, Warfordsburg; two daughters: Alinda M. Elbin and husband Danny, Artemas; Alesa I. Naymon and husband Brent, Hazel Green, Ala.; two sons: Roger E. Leasure and friend Leona Sipes, Warfordsburg; Rocky L. Leasure and wife Carol, Everett; three sisters: Dorothy Price and husband Joe, Little Orleans, Md.; Mabel Hendershot, Warfordsburg; Ruby McMonigal, Alabama; one brother, Homer Leasure, and wife Marion, Cumberland; grandchildren: Byron E. Leasure, Roger Steven Leasure and wife Karen; John K. and wife Brandi; Thomas B. Leasure and wife Lyndora; Tracy Leasure, Bryan Leasure and wife Allison and Kelly Leasure; Julia A. Williams and husband Orville; Daren L. Elbin and wife Kory C.; Brody A. Naymon and Mackina F. Naymon; greatgrandchildren: Taylor Elizabeth and Mackenzie Leasure, Zachary, Christopher, Jonathan, Wyatt, Cody, Jasmine, Brenna and Evan Leasure, Colton and Caitlyn Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother Fred Leasure; sisters Pearl A. Karns, Wilma McMonigal, Inez Mellott, Eerma Shanholtz and infants; granddaughter Amy Ruth Elbin in 2008; and daughter-in-law Linda Lou Booth Leasure.

Services will be held Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m, at Whips Cove Church. Rev. Gene Harding will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with military honors by Fulton Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. For the convenience of the family and friends, the funeral home will be pen from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday .
