The annual Bradley Gilliland chicken barbecue scholarship meal will be held at the Orbisonia Lions Club pavilion Sunday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reserved takeout tickets are available from the SHC FFA students or family members. Please support this scholarship fund in Bradley’s memory.

Brenden, Holden and Camden Lupey are celebrating the birth of baby goats this past weekend. The goats are 4-H projects for the boys.
Maddison Wible visited with Ramon and Tammy Grissinger this weekend. The girls enjoyed the showing of the new Nicholas Sparks movie.

Angel Wings will host the second annual Matt Murphy benefit ride and pig roast Saturday, June 9, at Harper’s Memorial Park, with riders leaving at noon. The event will open to the public at 4:30 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Penny Chilcote.
Three Springs Fire Co. will host a chicken barbecue Sunday, April 29.
Monday morning brought us an April surprise when the ground became white with and late spring snow. It was an April shower but not in liquid form. The garden plants were a little chilled but should survive the surprise.
