Fundraiser To Be Held For Burn Victim

Sandwich sale for Don Duncan
STAFF REPORT

Don Duncan Don Duncan Touted by media in the state of Indiana as a “Good Samaritan, Samaritan,” Mc- Connellsburg resident Don Duncan remains hospitalized several weeks after a horrific accident along Interstate 80.

According to reports from the family, Duncan, a tractor-trailer driver, stopped to render aid to fellow motorists during the early morning hours on March 13. Unfortunately, while approaching the disabled vehicle, an explosion from one of the involved tractortrailers threw Duncan into a nearby ditch.

Duncan suffered a variety of injuries including third-degree burns to his leg; first- and second degree burns to his face, ears, arms and back; a lacerated liver; a broken shoulder blade; broken ribs; a collapsed lung; and lacerations across his body.

Duncan was eventually transported to a burn center in Michigan. Duncan’s wife, Audrey, has remained by his side and is currently residing in a nearby hotel.

He is the stepfather of Nichole Earley, wife of Ryan, and Troy Buterbaugh, husband of Karen, all of McConnellsburg.

With travel, lodging and medical expenses mounting, a sandwich sale is tentatively scheduled to be held in May to help support the Duncan family. More information about the sale will be announced at a later date.

In addition, any residents or businesses interested in making a donation to the family can do so by contacting Nichole Earley at 717-360-4590 or Karen Buterbaugh at 717-360-0714.
