Norman R. Guyer
Norman R. “Sonny” Guyer, 74, Hedgesville, W.Va., formelry of Greencastle, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at his home in Hedgesville.
Born July 31, 1937, in Shady Pines, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Mary C. Guyer.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Merle M. and Perle L. Guyer; a sister, Viola M. Neil; grandson Joshua D. Kyne; and greatgrandson Gabrielle Rockwell.
He attended Path Valley schools, was a truck driver for many years and for the past 30 plus years was founder and chaplain with the Highway Travelrs for Jesus Trucking Ministry in Greencastle.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy L. (Shetler) Guyer, Hedgesville; seven children: Kim M. Schell and husband Daniel of Hedgesville; Wanda L. Kyne and husband John, Berkeley Springs; Debra D. Rockwell and husabnd Bruce, Hedgesville; Vincent R. Guyer and wife Krista, Augusta; Marina R. Kyne and husabnd Philip, Hedgesville; Derek M. Guyer and wife Sheryl and Shad O. Guyer and wife Renee, all of Shanghai; a sister, Arlene Guyer, Fannettsburg, and a brother, Elton Guyer Jr., McConnellsburg; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, at 11 a. m., at Brown Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Miller will officiate. Interment will be in Central Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
