PSU-Altoona Sorority Faces Attack Sanctions
ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) – The Penn State-Altoona campus has suspended a sorority after two members allegedly attacked a third woman in a dispute over a bottle of vodka at a party.
Twenty-two-year-old Angela Kim and 20-year-old Brooke Nolan, both members of Gamma Phi Beta, face a preliminary hearing Thursday on charges stemming from the alleged March 15 in incident. Nolan tells the Altoona Mirror her attorney has advised her not to comment, and Kim's attorney says he won't be commenting until after the hearing.
The sorority has been suspended on campus and its international council says is “appalled” by the allegations, for which its members will face discipline.
The victim tells police she wanted to drink shots from the bottle with her friends, but was beaten and kicked when she tried.
