Pvt. and Mrs. Charles E. Walker are spending a furlough with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold

N. Rotz of Todd Township. Pvt. Walker just completed his basic training at Camp Chaffee, Ark., and will report to Fort Holabird, Baltimore.

Mrs. Besse Laidig of McConnellsburg was taken by ambulance to the Bedford Memorial Hospital last Monday where she underwent an operation for gallstones.

Mrs. William Seburn of Thompson Township celebrated her 91st birthday on April 27.

A 36-year-old sex offender from Pittsburgh was arrested here on Monday when the driver of a Greyhound bus called police after the man molested a young Marine on the bus. The offender said he was an instructor at Duquesne University.

Taylor Township will be the first township in Fulton County to get rid of brucellosis. More than 90 percent of the herd owners here have signed agreements with the Bureau of Animal Industry to have their animals blood-tested.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bergstresser of Waterfall celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on April 26.

In addition to the Greyhound bus incident mentioned above, state police took a 33-year-old colored man from Washington, D.C., from another bus on Sunday and charged him with stealing $20 from a young soldier on the bus.

James Bivens, 71, received a broken left leg, broken ribs and bruises on Sunday when he was struck by a car on the highway near his home at Big Cove Tannery.

A surprise party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Cook of Three Springs on April 25 in honor of the 20th birthday of their son, Charles.
