Strawberry Festival Returns To Courthouse

SPECIAL TO THE NEWS

Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism invites all to the 22th annual Strawberry Festival June 8 and 9. Activities are scheduled to get under way at 10 a.m. both days. Lots of strawberry treats will be featured at the chamber’s booth, along with various delicious food items on sale at vendor booths located at the Fulton County Courthouse lawn area.

Joining the weekend activities this year for the first time will be a firemen’s parade sponsored by the McConnellsburg Fire Co. that will kick off at noon on Saturday, moving from the fairgrounds to the festival site. Also, the Reaching Wellness Fulton County group is sponsoring a 5K Strawberry Stampede Run/Walk that is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday beginning at the courthouse square.

The festival is featuring more things to do: a contest for babies and toddlers, a coloring contest for kindergarten and first-grade students from all county schools, a strawberry recipe contest, a countywide strawberry window decorating contest and a strawberry capping event. Anyone interested in being a vendor or a participant in any of the events and needs information should call the chamber office at 485-4064.
