An intensive search has been under way for the past week in the McConnellsburg area for Debbie

Ray Witmer, missing for nearly a year, and her father, McConnellsburg patrolman Charles Ray, is confident that results from the search will soon to forthcoming. Witmer disappeared last May 27, at which time she was living with her mother in the Rolling Acres Mobile Home Park, between St. Thomas and Chambersburg. She was married and was the mother of a little girl, Jaclyn, who will be four years old. Both her mother and father believe that Debbie has been murdered. The family reports that Debbie had associations with several persons allegedly connected with drug selling, bank robbery, and the stripping of at least one car. Ray also said that Debbie was known to have spent much of her time in Fulton County. A reward is still being offered for information that might lead to Witmer’s whereabouts.

High winds on Sunday blew the roof from a building, formerly used as a teen center, on the Mark Zanders property at Waterfall. The whole roof landed in the highway. Fortunately there was no traffic on the road at the time.
