A dispute between motorists along I-70 in Brush

Creek Township March 25 led to an accident, charges against the drivers and the discovery of cash which a narcotics dog indicates shows traces of drugs. The incident began when a Cambridge, Md., man operating a Toyota and a Fairborn, Ohio, man operating a Nissan, both were travelling east when a Wheaton, Md., man and his passenger apparently made obscene gestures toward them. Police said that as the two vehicles were continuing to travel east they allegedly intentionally made two abrupt turns into the lane of travel being used and both vehicles subsequently lost control. The Toyota struck an embankment and rolled over. In another bizarre twist, police reported March 26 that they had discovered more than $66,500 in large bills in the Nissan following the accident and subsequent arrests. Police brought in a narcotics sniffing dog from Bedford County and the dog alerted on the cash, indicating possible traces of drugs on the money.

No one was injured when an accidental fire gutted a vacant home in Brush Creek Township Monday morning, March 30.

The project manager for the company chosen to design, site, construct, operate and close a low-level radioactive waste disposal facility in Pennsylvania assured county officials Tuesday that Fulton County has not been targeted as a possible site for the facility and that the site selection process is still open.
