Congratulations to Josh Edgin on his successful pick with the Mets. We will be looking forward to seeing him at some games this summer.

Forty-four folks from Immanuel Bible Church enjoyed a bus trip to Washington, D.C., on Saturday where they visited the National Mall, monuments and many museums. Everyone had a fantastic time and the weather was cooperative for a beautiful day touring our nation’s capitol.

Recent visitors with Steve and Karen Grissinger and family were Travis Madden, Brent Carlson, Donna Locke, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Jase Watkins and Ramon and Tammy Martin.

Buzz Covert saw a bear last week and Mandy Snyder’s bird feeders also had a visitor. It’s time to bring the feeders inside for the summer.

Congratulations to Mandy Snyder on receiving the Penn State President’s Award for Academic Excellence. We are all very proud of her.

Tim Streightiff and Kenny, Kristi and Jase Watkins had dinner with Tom and Mamie Streightiff this weekend. Tim has been busy planting a garden on the farm.

Angel Wings would like to thank all who came out to support the spring fling craft show kitchen and vendors this past weekend. Also a special thank-you goes to everyone who donated items for the show. The Angels’ helpers in the kitchen were Hilda Wilson accompanied by Mike and Aaron Snyder, Lisa and Spenser Seeley, Danny Shoop and Tamsen and Samantha Anders. It could not happen without their willingness to donate their time. The annual fall craft show will be the last weekend in October at the Orbisonia Lions building. We will be accepting vendor registration beginning September.

Attending the spring fling event on Sunday were Gordon and Donna Locke, Ramon and Tammy Martin, and Nora Grissinger.

An upcoming Angel Wings event will be the annual Matt Murphy motorcycle and car ride and pig roast on Saturday, June 9. The ride will leave Harper’s Memorial Park promptly at noon. The pig roast meal will open to the public at 4:30 p.m. This event will benefit Penny Chilcote. Please come out and enjoy the fellowship, friendship, good food and the summer day with friends and the beautiful scenery at the park. Please call Deb or Dodie for reservations. Early reservations will be placed in a special drawing for a $100 gas card or cash.

Karen Grissinger found her first mushroom on April 2, the earliest record for her ever.

Happy Easter to everyone and may your baskets be overflowing with eggs and candy but most of all with the true meaning of Easter.
