McConnellsburg 11

Fannett-Metal 1

The McConnellsburg Spartans had 11 base runners cross home plate Friday evening while the defense was errorless in a 11-1 ousting of Fannett-Metal. During the Sideling Hill League match, pitcher Levi Crouse tallied five hits and two walks in five innings. For the offense, Tristin Deneen had a double and single at the plate as well as three RBIs. Meanwhile, Darren McQuade went three-for-three with two RBIs.

Southern Fulton 10

Chestnut Ridge 0

Southern Fulton’s Seth Hall lasted five innings on the mound Friday night during the Indians’ 10-0 trouncing of Chestnut Ridge. Hall only gave up two hits during the Sideling Hill League match while also striking out three batters. Conner Litton finished at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs, while Zane Baker added two hits and scored three runs. Teammate Tristan Douglas knocked in three runs for the Indians.

Forbes Road 21

Shalom Christian 1

Forbes Road easily handled Shalom Christian last Friday during a non-league game that ended in an overwhelming 21-1 victory. Casey Wade picked up the win for the Cardinals, and teammate Brett Burger came to the mound as a relief pitcher late in the game.


Fannett-Metal 16

McConnellsburg 8

McConnellsburg opened its season Friday night with a disappointing 16-8 loss to the Fannett- Metal Tigers. Lady Spartan Sarrah Pollock connected for a double and a triple, and Brandi Welsh finished with a double as well. In addition, Spartan pitcher Gabby Danner gave six earned runs over seven innings and added three strikeouts.

Chestnut Ridge 4

Southern Fulton 3

In spite of commanding a two-run lead early on, Southern Fulton dropped its season opener Friday 4-3 to Chestnut Ridge. Marley Elbin tossed a good game for the Indians, posting eight hits, seven strikeouts and four walks. Kelsey White had Southern Fulton’s only extra base hit with a double, and Kayla Wertz contributed two sacrifice bunts.
