Driver Injured In Crash

A Rochester, Pa., woman was transported to Conemaugh Hospital on Friday, March 23, following a singlevehicle accident along Interstate 70. Maureen E. Hiltz, 52, suffered moderate injuries during the 9:23 p.m. crash in Brush Creek Township, state police stated.

Hiltz suffered the injuries while travelling eastbound in a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. The car drove through the median near Mile Marker 166, became airborne and landed on its wheels, according to reports. The vehicle then struck a guiderail along the westbound lanes.

Hiltz was wearing a seat belt. She will be charged by state police with driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds.

State police were assisted on the scene by PennDOT, Needmore EMS, Needmore Volunteer Fire Co. and Fischer’s Towing.
