Norris C. Hindle

McConnellsburg, 68

Norris Cecil Hindle, 68, McConnellsburg,and formerly of St. Mary’s County and Charles County, Md., died at 3:55 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born July 29, 1943, at La Plata, Md., he was a son of the late Maurice Hindle and Virginia (Dare) Bowie.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife, the former Dorothy Balta Moore, whom he married November 30, 1991. She survives at their home.

Also surviving are a son, Kevin Hindle of Maryland; two stepsons: Robert Moore of Maryland and David Moore of New York; a grandson, Charles Moore of Maryland; 10 siblings: Steve Hindle of Virginia;, Betty Mitchell of Virginia; Eileen Hardesty of Maryland; Randy Bowie of Maryland; Mike Bowie of Maryland; Rita Thomas of Virginia; Anita Marsh of Maryland; Kathy Crowe of Maryland; Essie Gueno of Florida; Cliff Bowie of Maryland; and David Bowie of North Carolina

He was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Hewett.

He was a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He was the vice president of his company, NORCRON LLC., Battle Ridge Road, McConnellsburg. He retired from Honeywell as a contracts manager after 11 years service. He loved building things and tinkering in his barn with tools and tractors. He was always willing to help the neighbors in the area with anything they needed.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U. S. Army as General Abrams right hand man and was honorably discharged.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2012, at Mattingly- Gardner Funeral Home, 41590 Fenwick St., Leonardtown, Md. Pastor John Baker will officiate. Interment will be made at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Md.

Friends may call at the Mattingly-Gardner Funeral Home 5 p. m. to 8 p. m., Thursday, with a prayer service being held at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society of your choice or Hospice in Mr. Hindle’s name.
