Pa. Car Crashes After Toddler Puts Car Into Drive
EPHRATA, Pa. (AP) – Police in central Pennsylvania said a car crash was caused by toddler left in a running car who put the vehicle into drive.
Ephrata (EFF'-reh-tuh) police were called around noon Thursday to Highland Elementary School for a twocar crash.
WGAL-TV reports that a woman parked her car at the school and left her 2-year-old child unattended in the running vehicle as she went inside to pick up a student.
Police said the toddler put the car in drive, the vehicle crossed a sidewalk and road, and slammed into a light pole and parked car.
The woman will be charged with child endangerment and leaving a child in a car unattended.
