Members from local FFA chapters learn parliamentary procedure skills at a recent workshop hosted by McConnellsburg FFA. On March 22, 2012, McConnellsburg FFA Chapter hosted its second annual Parliamentary Procedure Workshop for local FFA chapters.

The workshop was run by Penn State agriculture education professor Dr. Daniel Foster and his students from his college parliamentary procedure class.

Dr. Foster and his crew taught the Mc- Connellsburg students, as well as students from James Buchanan, Forbes Road and Southern Fulton. The night began by introducing the principles and meaning of “Parliamentary Procedure,” then the students were split into teams and went through small workshops taught by the Penn State students to learn the different types of motions. After going through each one, the teams then competed with each other and learned how a Parlia Pro Career Development Event would go. The students all had a great time meeting members from other chapters and learning many new skills.
