Elizabeth Beaver; Alexander Reddy Edwards of Waterfall; Ethel Luella Strait Oliver of McConnellsburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Shuler, who were married in January, were guests at a linen shower on Saturday at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis F. Largent.

Pvt. Elmer W. Schooley, son of Cadiz Schooley of Harrisonville, was one of 328 student mechanics to be graduated from the Atlantic Quartermaster Motor Base School in April.

Harold C. Welsh of McConnellsburg was elected to his second consecutive term as county superintendent of schools, without opposition, on Tuesday at the quadrennial convention of school directors of the county. His salary was retained at $3,500.

The eighth grade of the Needmore School will present a three-act comedy, “Her Emergency Family,” on April 24. Taking part will be Lucille Hann, Louise Gordon, Anna Mae Lake, Charlotte Woodal, Betty Garland, Mac Truax, Walter Mellott, Virginia Lee Mellott, Carl Hill and Cam Mellott.

The following Fulton County draftees have arrived at Fort Knox, Ky., to begin their basic training: Harry C. Glunt of McConnellsburg; Marshall J. Hann of Sipes Mill; J. Matthew Bergstresser of Waterfall; Elmer Melius of Hustontown; George W. Black of McConnellsburg and Darl D. Long of Knobsville.

Mrs. John Doyle of McConnellsburg dislocated her shoulder a few day ago when she tripped over her grandson’s foot.

Pvt. Jackson Thomas and Betty Faye Snyder were married on April 4.
