MEETINGS

Scout Meeting

Boy Scouts of America Troop 43 meets every Friday night from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the VFW, 518 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg. It is open to all boys 11-18 years of age. Cemetery Assoc. Meeting/Cleanup

Asbury Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting Monday, April 2, at 7 p.m., at Avon and Teresa DeShong’s residence, Harrisonville. Cleanup day will be Thursday, April 5 at 5 p.m.

Legion Meeting

American Legion Post 561 active members regular meeting is the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. Auxiliary members meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Members of both organizations are urged to attend.

PARSE Meeting

Pennsylvania Association of Retired StateEmployees(PARSE)hasa9a.m.breakfastmeetingon the second Wednesday of every month at McConnellsburg FOVA (VFW). All retired state employees and spouses are invited to attend. For additional information, call 717-294-3861.

Singles Meeting

Knobsville Singles will meet Monday, April 9, at 9 a.m. at K’s Place.

Medical Center Auxiliary Meeting

Fulton County Medical Center Auxiliary will meet Monday, April 2, at 10 a.m., in the activities room of the Medical Center. A bake sale will be planned for Friday, May 11, in the main lobby of the center.

Town Meeting

A town meeting will be held to meet with the commissioners at Warfordsburg Senior Center Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m.

Democratic Meetings

The Fulton County Democratic Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Democratic Headquarters building at 123 South Second Street in McConnellsburg. Meetings are open to the public, light refreshments are provided and all are welcome. More information may be obtained by calling 485 3386.

Cemetery Assoc. Meeting

The annual Clear Ridge Cemetery Assoc. meeting will be held Friday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. at Clear Ridge United Methodist Church. All directors and interested parties are urged to attend.

Historical Society Dinner Meeting

The annual dinner meeting of Fulton County Historical Society will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 6 p.m., at Hustontown Firehall. The program will feature Celtic songs from the Highlands of Ireland and Scotland. Charlie Zahm on guitar and fiddler Tad Marks are popular performers at Celtic music festivals across the United States and are highly recommended. Ticket price for both the roast beef buffet and entertainment are $15 with checks mailed to the Fulton County Historical Society, Box 115, McConnellsburg, PA 17233. Deadline is April 10. Animal League Meeting

The next meeting of the Friends of Better Days Animal League will be Monday, April 2, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., at the BDAL Thrift Store. Please join in to learn more about BDAL and upcoming group functions. This is a great opportunity to become involved as a volunteer for community events or at our thrift store. Anyone interested in providing support to BDAL to benefit the lives of abandoned, abused and neglected animals is welcome to attend.

Farm Women Meeting

Fulton County Society of Farm Women will meet April 5, at 7 p.m., at the home of Dorothy Randler. The program will be a spoon meal. (Please bring a dish and copies of the recipe for it.)
