A Fulton County woman and her passenger died as a result of injuries suffered in a single-vehicle accident in Peters Township, Franklin County, over the weekend.

McConnellsburg resident Barbara Ann Feagley was pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m. by Franklin County Coroner Jeff Conner on March 17 at the site of the crash scene in Cove Gap. Conner told the “News” cause of death in the crash has been linked to blunt force trauma. No autopsy is scheduled to be performed.

Feagley was fatally injured at 1:18 a.m. while travelling westbound along Buchanan Trail West, Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Herman A. Hofacker of the Chambersburg barracks reported.

Feagley’s 2009 Nissan Versa ran onto the north berm at the intersection of Mountain Road before crossing a lawn and striking a concrete wall in front of a residence located at 14421 Buchanan Trail West.

Feagley’s car sustained severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene, Trooper Hofacker said.

Feagley, 40, was wearing a seat belt. Her passenger, Travis W. Lewis, of Fort Loudon, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered major injuries. He was flown to Hershey Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries, a hospital spokesperson confirmed.

At the time of her death, Feagley was employed as a medical secretary with Franklin Family Practice in Chambersburg. She is survived by her husband, Chet D. Feagley Jr., and three children: Alex Feagley, Chris Feagley and Samantha Feagley.

Feagley’s obituary can be found on Page B3 of the “News.”
