State police of the Bedford substation arrested a 24-year-old stable boy at the Meadows race track on Thursday morning and charged him with the murder of two women at the Beechwood Inn near Bedford on December 1. Police had earlier filed homicide charges for the young man’s arrest, nearly four months after the killing of two elderly ladies who had operated the Beechwood Inn for nearly 30 years. The dead women were Margarite Snyder, 69, and Mary Deremer, 67. Their restaurant and service station was ransacked, but police, who went over it with a “fine tooth comb” for days, uncovered more than $2,300 in currency and coins which the robber/ killer overlooked.
