Bill and Arlene Nesbitt will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary on March 27.

Happy birthday to Alice Branche who will be 99 on March 29; Beulah Grissinger will be 94 on March 27; and Adrian Spade will be 93 on March 23.

Sympathy goes out to the family of Mary Spriggs who passed away last week and the family of Ann Maney who passed away last Sunday after battling cancer.

Word was received that Mrs. Lyle “Jane” Putt of Fort Myers, Fla., passed away last week at her home. She and her family lived in McConnellsburg at one time.

Kurt Kendall and some friends from Saltillo attended the NASCAR races in Las Vegas recently. They all had a great time.

Congratulations to Public Opinion boys basketball all- stars from the area. Named to the first team were Seth Hall and Damon Gordon of Southern Fulton and Tyler Green of McConnellsburg. Named to the second team were Nick Smartt of Southern Fulton and Tristan Gelvin of Forbes Road. Honorable mention went to Evan Appleby, McConnellsburg, and Chris Everts and Chase Shaw of Forbes Road.

Area folks who attended the 75th birthday dinner for Don Kenney in Red Lion on Sunday were Ray Pittman, Susan Moody, Jim and Stella Pittman, Buck Pittman, Tracy and Misty Ashley, Mindy Starliper and son Jared, Paul Pittman, Linda and Mike Harr and grandson Brandon, and Dave and Lisa Keefer. Don is married to the former Judy Pittman of here.

Sympathy to the Bob Oakman family on the death of his wife, Marcille. Bob is formerly of Fulton County.

Miles Gress celebrated his sixth birthday February 27. He celebrated with his school friends and enjoyed a tractor themed cake.

Lydiah Truax of Willow Hill enjoyed spending an overnight visit with her cousins, Hannah and Tobias McGarvey, of Cooper Lane on Saturday.

The breakfast at Cito Methodist Church on Saturday for Roger Sowers was well attended and the food was great. They also had baked goods for sale. It was sponsored by Roger’s high school class (1979). His mother, Sally, was able to be there.

Congratulations to Public Opinion girls all-stars for basketball. Named to the first team were Macey Hollenshead and Taelor Morton of Southern Fulton and Jess Gearhart of Forbes Road. Second team honors went to Nikki Fleming, McConnellsburg; Jenna Hollenshead, Southern Fulton; and Shayla Carmack, Forbes Road. Honorable mention went to Forbes Road’s Sammie Clippinger, Becca Hahn and Sarrah Pollock of McCon-nellsburg; and Kayla Chilcote of Southern Fulton. Macey Hollenshead was also named player of the year.

Spring arrived on Tuesday and flowers are blooming everywhere.

Spring activities have started at the Lions Club Park so while driving in that area look out for little and big people crossing the road.
