Mildred R. Barnhart
Mildred R. "Millie" Barnhart, 91, of Needmore, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg.
She was born in Big Cove Tannery, February 7, 1921, the daughter of the late Rolla and Nellie (Lanehart) Mellott. She was the widow of William Palmer Barnhart.
She was a member of Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, was a waitress at Weaver’s Restaurant in Hancock, Md., for 35 years and also was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughter Delores A. Barling of Needmore; daughter Mary L. Cromwell of Needmore; son William Carl Barnhart of Needmore; son Roger L. Barnhart of Ft. Loudon; daughter Carol F. Hollinshead of McConnellsburg; half-brother Horace Mellott of Lemoyne, Pa.; half-sister Betty Doyle of McConnellsburg; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by stepmother Ruth Mellott; half-sisters Marietta Mann and Ethel Doyle; half-brother Denver Mellott; and one infant halfbrother.
Religious services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 11 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2012. Pastor Dick Bernhard officiated. Interment was at Sideling Hill Baptist Cemetery, Needmore.
