Police Seek Motive In Pittsburgh Clinic Shooting
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Investigators are still trying to determine what prompted a shooting rampage inside a Pittsburgh psychiatric clinic that left one dead and six wounded before the gunman died in a gunfight with police.
Police are studying handwritten notes, medication and items recovered from the home of 30- year-old John Shick.
Authorities say Shick opened fire Thursday afternoon inside the lobby of the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, killing 25- year- old Michael Schaab. Schaab's funeral has been set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Baptist de la Salle Church in Delmont.
Six others were wounded, including four that remained hospitalized in good or fair condition Monday.
Neighbors reported Shick behaved erratically and would post angry notes on his apartment door in the days before the shooting.
