Unusually large flocks of robins arrived last week and large flocks of geese were seen flying northward, together with spring flowers pushing their way through the long-frozen ground, all tell us that spring, though a little late in coming, is on its way.

The Hollenshead family was filmed last Thursday afternoon by a cameraman from the Channel 10 TV station in Altoona. The taping was for a segment of Channel 10’s “People Are Great” series, recognizing the efforts of local people in Channel 10’s viewing area on behalf of their families and communities. Four years ago, when the Hollenshead’s daughter, Janet, was 9 years old, she sent a letter to Channel 10, nominating her mother for “People Are Great.” Her mother, Carolyn, is probably best known around Fulton County as the director of the Fulton Conservation District.
