We couldn’t have had a more beautiful weekend. The green foliage and Easter flowers are beginning to bloom. And, of course, we got the time change started for a few months.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. banquet will be held next Saturday evening, March 17, at 6 p.m., for members and guests.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match on Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished and prizes awarded.

Hustontown Fire Co. will also sponsor an open stage Saturday, March 24, at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Come out and share your talent or just come out and enjoy the talents of others. Admission is free.

A .410 shooting match is also planned by the fire company for Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished and prizes awarded. Volunteer firemen will appreciate your support. They are there for our support 24 hours a day on call.

Anniversary wishes to Jim and Joyce Brennen, March 13; and Mark and Rhonda Weller, March 19.

Household Hint: If you are an angler or know an angler, take advantage of the refuse left after fish cleaning. Bury the scraps in your gardena bout six inches deep. They are very rich in nutrients and would be very helpful for your garden.
