Fulton County Cooperative Extension will conduct the following pesticide update trainings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Adhere to the school calendar, so if school is canceled, or has early dismissal, the meeting will be rescheduled: March 21 – Forbes Road High School; and March 22 – Southern Fulton High School. Mental Health Skills Training
The Mental Health Association of Franklin and Fulton County will hold an intervention skills training (ASIST) on Thursday and Friday, March 22 and 23. The workshop will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Training will focus on helping to prevent suicide and will cost $30 per person. Central Fulton School District will hold registration for the 2012-2012 school year Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 27, 28 and 29. Children who will be age 4 on or before August 20 are eligible for the 4K program and children who will be age 5 or on or before August 20 are eligible for the 5K (kindergarten) program. Please note that students who are currently enrolled in the 4K program do not need to reregister for 5K. Please contact Stacy Morton at 485- 7072 to schedule an appointment.
The Hunter/Trapper course will be held Thursday, March 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club, McConnellsburg. This is the first of three traditional courses for Fulton County. Bring a bag lunch for Saturday. Preregistration is required at PGC Web site at www.pgc.state.pa.us. Fulton County Master Gardeners will conduct a backyard fruit workshop Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the community room of Community State bank of Orbisonia located at 415 Fulton Drive, Mc- Connellsburg. Teaching, selecting, growing and maintaining fruit-bearing plants, strawberries, blueberries and brambles (raspberries and blackberries). Cost for the workshop is $10. Fulton County Master Gardeners invite the public to participate in a new community victory garden in McConnellsburg. The garden offers a weekly, summerlong class from April to September. Class members learn nd participate in the process of vegetable gardening. A combination of weekly classes, hands-on work in the garden and the reward of taking your own produce. 55-ALIVE DRIVING CLASS
The classroom refresher course for 55-ALIVE/Mature driving will be offered at Warfordsburg Senior Center March 29 and 30. Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to noon and two days of classes are required. Preregister, either in person or by mailing the check, payable to AARP for $14 (per person nonmember) or $12 (per person AARP member), to Warfordsburg Senior Center, 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267. Graduates of the class, age 55 and over, will be eligible for the three-year auto insurance discounts. If planning on staying for lunch, following the class, please be sure to let Cindy know at 294-6020 one day in advance or when registering. There are no tests involved.

Big Spring Graveyard Cleanup
Big Spring Graveyard Cleanup will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 29. Volunteers are invited to join with local Cub Scouts to pick up tree branches and cut down brambles at the colonial Big Spring Graveyard three miles south of McConnellsburg off Route 522. AARP-TCE Free Tax Help
Free tax help and e-filing for taxpayers with low or middle income of any age, not just elderly, will be available at Fulton Theatre, McConnellsburg, every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. until April 11. Volunteers will prepare federal, state, local and rent and property tax rebate. Please bring last year’s income tax returns, current year’s tax forms such as W-2s, 1099-int., 1099-Div. 1099- B, 1099-R, Society Security, etc. Must have last year’s taxes to be able to e-file. March Lunch & Learn
March lunch and learn will be held March 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Pearl Room of Fulton County Medical Center. Join other community dads for the next lunch and learn series.
