Under much nicer weather conditions, Lincoln Speedway was able to get race number two in the books on Saturday as Brent Marks scored the win in the 25-lap 410 Sprint car feature.
Marks, who finished runner up in the season opener the week before, took the lead on the seventh lap and held off a late charge from Kevin Nouse and Danny Dietrich before scoring the win.
The win was Marks’ fifth career at Lincoln and came over Nouse, Dietrich, Cory Haas and Alan Krimes, with Doug Esh, Adam Wilt, Fred Rahmer, Cody Darrah and Ryan Bohlke completing the top 10.
Lincoln will return to action Saturday with 410 Sprints and 358 Sprints.
Selinsgrove Speedway opens this Sunday with a 410 sprint show at 2 p.m.
The 27th annual Race-ARama car show at the Hagerstown Valley Mall was held late last week and the mall was filled with race cars that will compete this season.
The Best of Show award went to the hobby stock of Kenny Thomas.
Top Late Model awards went to the No. 46 of Mc- Connellsburg’s Marvin Winters, the No. 12 of Devin Friese and the No. 7 Kyle Lear.
Late Model Sportsman awards went to the No. 77S of Elwood Sord, the No. 16 of Pete Weaver and the No. 2J of Justin Weaver, while Pure Stock top vote-getters were the No. 10 of Charlie Pensinger, the No. 1K of Randy Kline and the No. 75 of Dustin Proctor.
Another best-appearing cars in various divisions was the No. 55 600 Micro Sprint of Alyssa Rowe.
Hagerstown Speedway is slated to open for competition on Saturday March 24. A test and tune day takes place on March 17.
