Lions To Hold Convention In Huntingdon March 17
Each year the Lions Clubs from the five county area known as District 14L gather for a convention. The five counties are Bedford, Blair, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Mifflin. This year the Lions will convene in the Huntingdon Country Club at Huntingdon on March 17 for educational displays and motivational seminars. This year the seminars pertain to leadership and membership to expand community service. Lions Clubs International celebrates the formation of a new Leo Club and renewal of an- other in Huntingdon County.
District 14L is also the home district of the PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp for the blind, and individuals with other challenges. After voting for next year's District and Vice-District Governors, the Lions and guests will enjoy a fellowship banquet and motivational message from Dave Hajny. Director Hajny, from Ennis, Montana, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association's 94th international Convention, held in Seattle, Washington, July 4-8, 2011. A member of the Bozeman Lions Club, and a Lion since 1994, he has held many offices within the association. In addition to his Lions activities, Director Hajny is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including the Madison Valley Hospital Foundation, the American Legion, and the United States Selective Service Board for Montana.
He has also served as the chairperson of the Madison Valley Rural Fire Board. Director Hajny and his wife, Marie, also a Lion and a Melvin Jones Fellow, have three sons, one daughter and seven grandchildren.
