FCMC Cardiology Services Welcomes Dr. Mandak
No stranger to FCMC or area residents, Mandak will join Dr. Michael Donahoe at FCMC beginning September 1, 2012. Mandak has a long history with FCMC. He was instrumental in beginning the cardiopulmonary rehab department in the early 90s as well as organizing the first health fairs for National Heart Month.
“This is a great opportunity for the community, and I am looking forward to working with Dr. Mandak, says Dr. Donahoe. The addition of Dr. Mandak assures continuation of cardiology services after I retire in several years.”
“I too look forward to returning to Fulton County and working with Dr. Donahoe to provide outstanding outpatient and inpatient cardiology care for our patients without them having to travel far from home. In a time when medical care is becoming increasingly mechanized, our practice at Fulton County Medical Center will allow us to focus first and foremost on the personal care of our patients and their families” states Mandak.
Mandak attended medical school at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He has been recognized as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a fellow of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (FAACVPR) for his special training and expertise in these areas. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He is also board certified by the National Board of Echocardiography.
On a personal note, Mandak has been married to his wife Melinda for 20 years. They have three children. In addition to his devotion to his patients and family, in his free time he likes to hunt, fish, play and coach lacrosse.
