Forbes Road 74

Southern Huntingdon 56

Forbes Road clinched its third-straight victory Monday night when the Cardinals downed the Southern Huntingdon Rockets 74-56. Tristan Gelvin rallied for a team-high 26 points, while Brett Burger kept his scoring streak going with 16 points. Doug Everts was the next highest scorer with eight points.

Forbes Road 84

Fannett-Metal 74

Forbes Road jumped out to a nine-point lead early on Friday night and held on for an 84-74 Sideling Hill League victory over the Fannett- Metal Tigers. Chris Everts rallied to lead the Cardinals with 21 points, three blocked shots and three steals. Brett Burger tipped in 17 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Teammate Tyson Berkstresser tossed in 16 points, and Tristan Gelvin added 13 points and five assists.

Southern Fulton 87

McConnellsburg 46

Southern Fulton was hot from the foul line and the field Friday night, easily ousting the McConnellsburg Spartans 87-46. During the Sideling Hill League victory, four members of the Indians team reached double digits, with Seth Hall paving the way with 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Nick Smartt contributed 18 points and five steals, while Jacob Ashkettle posted 11 points. Damon Gordon rallied for 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots.

McConnellsburg was led by Tony White with 13 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Tyler Green followed with 12, and Tyler Branche and Jesse Swope both had 10.

Forbes Road 69

Hancock 51

Having come out flat in the last several games following the halftime break, the Forbes Road Cardinals were on fire during the third period Thursday night against Hancock, Md. Winning the non-league match 69-51, Brett Burger posted a double- double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Teammate Jordan Sowers also had 12 points, while Chase Shaw rallied for 11 points and six assists. Doug Everts added 10 points.

Hyndman 58

Forbes Road 51

Forbes Road’s five-point lead dwindled away last Tuesday night and ended in a 58-51 loss to Hope for Hyndman. Chase Shaw tallied 15 points and six assists to lead his Cardinal teammates, while Brett Burger pumped in 11 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. Tyson Berkstresser also reached double digits with 10 points.

Everett 68

McConnellsburg 49

Everett jumped out to a seven-point lead after one period last Monday and cruised to a 68-49 win, to avenge a prior season loss to the McConnellsburg Spartans. Becca Hahn hit double figures during her team’s loss with 16 points. Teammate Jessi Pittman rallied for eight points and nine rebounds.

Jessica Gearhart posted a double- double for the Forbes Road Cardinals Monday night during a 10-point Sideling Hill League loss to the Fannett-Metal Tigers. Gearhart finished out the game with 10 points and 16 rebounds. Sammie Clippinger also tallied 10 points, and Shayla Carmack added eight points and three steals.

McConnellsburg 49

Having lost to Forbes Road midway through the season, McConnellsburg edged out the Cardinals by eight points during Saturday’s makeup game. Becca Hahn reached 14 points to lead the Lady Spartans, while teammate Libby Strayer added a double-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds and six steals. Meanwhile, Sarrah Pollock had eight points.

Sammie Clippinger had a team-high 15 points, and Shayla Carmack and Corri Parsons followed with nine and seven points, respectively.

Southern Fulton 55

McConnellsburg 31

With home court advantage in their favor last Thursday, the Southern Fulton Lady Indians ran away for the 55- 31 Sideling Hill League win over Mc- Connellsburg. Macey Hollenshead netted 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out seven assists for the victorious Indians. Taelor Morton chipped in 16 points and seven steals, while Kayla Chilcote dumped in 12 points. Meanwhile, Becca Hahn and Rikki Green tallied 13 and seven points, respectively, for Mc- Connellsburg.

Tussey Mountain 70

McConnellsburg 43

The McConnellsburg Spartans committed 30 turnovers last Tuesday on their way to a 70-43 Sideling Hill League loss to Tussey Mountain. Sarrah Pollock was leading scorer for the Spartans with 18 points and seven rebounds. Becca Hahn added 10 points.

Southern Fulton 50

Everett 40

Macey Hollenshead and Ashley Roman both hit double figures in the scoring department Tuesday night, aiding the Southern Fulton Indians in a 10-point victory over Everett. Hollenshead wrapped up the Sideling Hill League win with 14 points and nine assists, while Roman chipped in 12 points and one blocked shot. Taelor Morton added nine points and six steals.

Hyndman 32

Jessica Gearhart poured in a career-high 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds last Tuesday night during the Forbes Road Cardinals’ 53-32 win over Hyndman. Shayla Carmack followed with 14 points, and Shania Gelvin finished out the evening with seven points and three assists.
