Ty Fogal, 18, graduated in June 2011 from Tussey Mountain High School.

Fogal was born in Mc- Connellsburg and raised in the Waterfall area with his parents, Kelly and Michele Fogal, and brother Shane Fogal. Ty’s grandparents are Clara Fogal and the late John Fogal Sr. of New Granada and Gary and Wanda Clark of Shirleysburg. He has been honored to have Fred Martz of Hustontown in his life since birth.

At the end of July a goingaway party with more than 100 of his friends and family was held in his honor. Ty was on his way to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri for basic training and AIT. He had made a choice to join the U.S. Army and his MOS was to be a MP. After 19 weeks away from his family and friends, it was finally graduation day. Ty’s proud parents and grandmother Fogal made the 15-hour trip to bring Ty back home. On December 15 Ty was officially an MP. On December 16 Ty was welcomed home by his big brother, Shane, and his niece, Harmony Fogal.

Family and friends celebrated the New Year with Ty at his home. On January 2 Ty’s mother, father, and brother took him to Harrisburg International Airport to depart for South Korea. Ty arrived in South Korea safely. He is now stationed at Yongson Army base in Korea and will be there until January 2013. He has enlisted for five years active and three years reserve. Ty is considering going career Army in the future.
