Micah Ramsey spent a couple of days last week visiting with grandparents, Roger and Pat Ramsey.

Betty Ramsey and Joe and Melanie Myers travelled to Erie over the weekend to take in the Shippensburg University wrestling match at Mercyhurst College and stopped for an overnight visit with Hilary, Eric and Elliot Costello and Holly and Aden Forslund in Pittsburgh.

Roger and Pat Ramsey and Trudy Fix visited Brian, Emily, Micah and Adelyn Ramsey last Sunday evening.

Walnut Grove women’s prayer breakfast met at K’s Place last Saturday morning.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff visited with Tim Streightiff in Washington, D.C., on Sunday and took in the Farmer’s Market.

Donna Locke and Joy visited with Irene Park on Monday at Meadowview Manor near McVeytown. George and Heather Locke also recently visited with Irene.

Ruth Grissinger and Tamsen Anders enjoyed a wonderful meet-and-greet weekend with the Puskarich grandchildren Lia, Audrey and James in Murrysville on Saturday. Lil James and his parents, Tom and Alana, will be returning to continue their ministry in Nepal in the coming weeks. Please say a prayer for traveling mercies, as well as comforted hearts for the extended Puskarich and Berry families that will be seeing them off.

Fifteen members of the Walnut Grove Senior Youth attended the Winter Jam Concert last Friday evening at the Bryce Jordan Center. A good time was had by everyone.

The annual Valentine spaghetti dinner will be held at Walnut Grove Fellowship Building following worship services on Sunday, February 19. A silent auction and a traditional baked goods auction will follow. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the afternoon.

Recent visitors with Steve and Karen Grissinger and family were Brian Fraker, Mike, Patty, Chris and Kevin Pintozzi, Travis Madden, Brent Carlson, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Gordon and Donna Locke and Dan, Kolton and Alayna Gaff.

Ramon and Tammy Martin visited with Buzz and Bea Covert on Saturday afternoon.

The groundhog may think there is six more weeks of winter, but the tulips and crocus are rapidly pushing through the ground to bloom. Also, we spotted several buzzards on Sunday near Three Springs and that is another sign of spring. And then again, it did snow over the weekend, so who knows what we’ll see next.

Orbisonia United Methodist Church will be hosting its Saturday breakfast gatherings and Friday Night Jam events at the Outreach Center.

Orbisonia United Methodist Church will also be hosting the Saturday night checkers games beginning at 5:30 p.m. Held the last Saturday of each month, this activity is open to the public.

Angel Wings will be hosting its second annual sweethearts charity benefit on Saturday, February 11, at the Orbisonia Lions building. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with a buffet beginning at 6:30 p.m. The price for a couple’s ticket is $35 and a single ticket is $20. Honored guests and recipients this year will be Mike and Jess Jenkins of Meadow Gap. Reservations are required, with the deadline being February 9. Shade Gap Volunteer Fire Co. has begun its annual hoagie sales. The price is $4.50. Please call to place large orders or stop in and pick up a few up for dinner. If you would like to donate your time to help or deliver, please contact a member of the fire company.

Three Springs Fire Co. will have a meal on Sunday, February 19. Eatin or takeouts will be available.

Pesticide update meetings will be held February 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. and February 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Huntingdon County Extension Office; February 22 at McConnellsburg High School; March 22 at Forbes Road High School; and March 23 at Southern Fulton High School all from 7 to 9 p.m.
