Coroner Called To Pa. Scene Of Small Plane Crash

YORK, Pa. ( AP) – A south-central Pennsylvania coroner says a Maryland man has been killed in a small plane crash.

York County Coroner Barry Bloss said the man was the only person killed in the 12:42 p.m. Sunday crash in a Jackson Township cornfield near the York airport.

Bloss said the man’s name is not being released pending notification of his relatives.

The National Transportation Safety Board says on its Twitter feed that the plane was a Piper PA-28 180.

The NTSB says it is investigating, and Bloss said the Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating.

State police and Northern York Regional Police were also at the scene of the crash.
