Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

January is closing out a little cool, but we really can’t complain as it wasn’t all that bad. The ground hog will tell us on February 2 if we will have six more weeks of winter, which will probably have anyway.

A nice crowd attended the combined covered dish meal at Knobsville United Methodist Church with Fairview Church attending also. A nice program by the youth and Daryl Hixon entertaining for the evening was enjoyed by all.

Happy birthday wishes to Bobby Bennett, February 1; Belle Berkstresser, February 8; and Sara Kay Helman, February 11.

Worship services at Knobsville United Methodist Church are held every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday School. Everyone is welcome to join in. Lenten Bible study will be starting Thursday, February 23, at 7 p.m. every Thursday through March 29. All are welcome.

We have sole folks in the area who are having some physical problems so we send get well wishes to them.

Household Hint: If you have a large number of small, pierced earrings, try storing them in a plastic ice cube tray. Each cube space will hold several pairs of earrings. You can group them by color if you like so you can tell at a glance if you have something to match your outfit. Trays fit easily into dresser drawers and they also stack well.
