Southern Fulton 58

Tussey Mountain 40

Southern Fulton had two team members reach double figures Monday night, leading the Indians to a 58- 40 win over Tussey Mountain. Damon Gordon tallied a team-high 18 points, and Nick Smartt added 13 points. Seth Hall contributed nine points, five assists and four steals, and Jacob Ashkettle rounded out the day with six points, six rebounds and six blocked shots.

Northern Bedford 54

Forbes Road 37

Northern Bedford used a strong second quarter Monday night to pull away for a 54-37 Sideling Hill League win over Forbes Road. Tristan Gelvin led his Cardinal teammates with 11 points and three steals. Jordan Sowers and Brett Burger followed with eight and seven points, respectively.

Hyndman 60

McConnellsburg 56

Tony White netted 22 points Monday evening for the McConnellsburg Spartans, who fell to the Hyndman Hornets by just four points. White also had eight steals during the Sideling Hill League match, and teammate Tyler Green racked up 19 points. Evan Appleby added 15 points. Tyler Branche led the defensive effort with 10 rebounds.


Emmanuel Christian 31

Fulton County Community Christian School broke a six-game losing streak Friday night with a decisive 60- 31 non-league win over Emmanuel Christian. Skyler Gordon dumped in a whopping 28 points and seven assists for the Chargers, who also received 12 points from Caleb Gingerich. Nathan Gingerich added 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Fannett-Metal 47

A rally in the fourth quarter wasn’t enough for the Fannett-Metal Tigers to pick up their first league victory Friday night or a win over their rivals, the Forbes Road Cardinals. During the Cardinals’ 52- 47 win, Tristan Gelvin netted 17 points. Jordan Sowers hit double digits with 10 points and three steals, while Chase Shaw added nine points and three assists. Meanwhile, Chris Everts finished with eight points and 10 boards.

McConnellsburg 52

Southern Fulton scored 28 points in the opening two periods Friday night to hold off the McConnellsburg Spartans. In clinching the Sideling Hill League match 85-52, the Indians were led by Nick Smartt with 15 points. Teammates Brayden Litton and Brandon Wertz both chipped in 13 points, and Jacob Ashkettle rallied for 12. Damon Gordon rounded out the evening with 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Meanwhile for the Spartans, Tony White poured in a team-high 23 points and seven boards. Tyler Green followed with 17 points.

Huntingdon Christian 48


Fulton County Community Christian School was handed its sixth consecutive defeat last Tuesday when Huntingdon Christian took the non-league match by the score of 48-39. Skyler Gordon poured in 17 points for the Chargers, who received nine points each from Nathaniel and Caleb Gingerich. Nathaniel Gingerich also tallied nine rebounds and five steals.

Forbes Road 47

Getting off to a great start in the first quarter, the Forbes Road Cardinals faded in the second period and failed to make up the deficit against Everett. Tristan Gelvin dumped in a career-high 29 points and also dished out four assists. Meanwhile, teammate Chase Shaw was the next highest scorer during the league game with eight points.

McConnellsburg 55

Chestnut Ridge maintained a perfect Sideling Hill League record Tuesday night when they downed the McConnellsburg Spartans by a margin of 20 points. Tony White led the Spartans’ effort with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Tyler Green netted 18 points and added three assists, while teammate Evan Appleby rounded out the match with 14 points and three assists.

Hyndman 40

Trailing by two after the opening period Tuesday, the Southern Fulton Indians gradually poured on the heat while shutting down Hope for Hyndman’s offense effort. During the 56-40 win for the Indians, Damon Gordon rallied for 15 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots. Nick Smartt followed with 13 points, and teammate Seth Hall finished with seven points and seven assists.

Emmanuel Christian 10

Emmanuel Christian was held to a mere two points in three periods of last Friday evening’s game, which ended in an easy 50-10 victory for the Fulton County Community Christian School Chargers. Jenae Gordon had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead her Charger teammates. Morgan Daniels and Whitney Schultz both contributed six points, and Christina Koontz finished with 11 rebounds.

McConnellsburg 30

With 3.3 seconds remaining on the game clock last Thursday night, Southern Fulton’s Courtney Strait aced a lay-up for a threepoint lead over McConnellsburg. The Indians held on for the 31-30 Sideling Hill League victory after the Spartans missed both a free throw and a buzzer beater shot.

Macey Hollenshead was the high scorer for Southern Fulton during the win with 11 points, four assists and six steals. Meanwhile, Strait added seven points, 14 rebounds and six steals.

For the Lady Spartans, Nikki Fleming finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jessi Pittman and Becca Hahn both added seven points.

Fannett-Metal 59

Forbes Road 48

Fannett-Metal picked up its very first win in the Sideling Hill League last Thursday with a 11-point victory over the Forbes Road Cardinals. Freshman Breanna Worthing was the team leader for the Cardinals with 10 points. Sammie Clippinger and Shayla Carmack both chipped in eight points, and teammates Braylin Hohman and Jessica Gearhart added seven apiece.

McConnellsburg 50

Belleville Mennonite 26

McConnellsburg maintained a heft lead throughout last Tuesday’s game and ended the non-league match against Belleville Mennonite in a 50-26 win. Nikki Fleming, Becca Hahn and Samantha Roberts all poured in nine points for the Lady Spartans, while Libby Strayer added eight points and seven steals. Sarrah Pollock contributed seven rebounds and five assists.

Off the heels of their first loss of the season, Southern Fulton rallied last Tuesday easily trouncing Hancock, Md. by the final score of 57- 27. Kayla Chilcote had 14 points and five rebounds to lead the Lady Indians, who also received 12 points and seven steals from Macey Hollenshead. Courtney Strait and Maddie Mellott added eight and seven points respectively.

Hyndman was held to eight points or less in every period Monday evening by the McConnellsburg Spartans, who ended the game in a 40-point victory. Nikki Fleming and Jessi Pittman both rallied for 10 points, and Pittman also chipped in eight rebounds and three blocked shots. Rikki Green added 10 points and eight rebounds.
