Juniata Valley 76

Trailing by 12 points following the halftime break, the Forbes Road Cardinal offense pushed ahead for a narrow two-point win over Juniata Valley last Thursday. Chris Everts led the Cardinals with 25 points, 21 rebounds and two blocked shots. Chase Shaw followed with 17 points and Tristan Gelvin added 12 points and six assists. Kyle Schoen rounded out the game with a double-double as well after posting 10 points, 15 rebounds and two steals.

Southern Fulton 62

Clear Spring 52

The Southern Fulton Indians trailed by six points heading into the fourth period but ended last Tuesday’s match with a 10-point victory over previously undefeated Clear Spring, Md. Clinching the Tri- State Shootout championship title, Nick Smartt rallied for 19 points. Teammate Damon Gordon had 15 points, six assists and seven steals, and Seth Hall netted 11 points. Alex Seburn finished out the match with 10 points and five rebounds.

Mount Union 51

Forbes Road 47

Forbes Road had a slow opening quarter Monday night and fell short against Mount Union, who secured the non- league match by the final score of 51-47. Jessica Gearhart had a team-high 19 points, 11 rebounds and three steals for the Lady Cardinals. Freshman Braylin Hohman chipped in 10 points, and Breanna Worthing added five points and 10 rebounds.

Southern Fulton 72

Clear Spring 26

Macey Hollenshead continued to lead Southern Fulton’s offense last Thursday evening when the Indians rolled to a 72-26 win over Clear Spring, Md. In clinching the Hancock Holiday Tournament title, the Indians received 21 points from Macey Hollenshead. Sister Jenna Hollenshead added an additional 13 points, and Taelor Morton and Ashley Roman both netted 11. Morton also contributed nine assists and seven steals, while Roman pulled down six rebounds.

Southern Fulton 69

Hancock 17

Southern Fulton easily handled Hancock, Md., last Wednesday during the opening round of the Hancock Holiday Tournament. Downing the Maryland team 69-17, Macey Hollenshead led the Indian squad with 18 points, five steals and eight assists. Kayla Chilcote reached double digits as well with 10 points. Taelor Morton finished with eight points, and Courtney Strait contributed seven points and seven rebounds.

Hyndman 24

After narrowly losing the evening before, the Forbes Road Cardinals dominated Hope for Hyndman last Wednesday evening and earned a third-place finish in the Teddy Thanos Tournament. Shayla Carmack led with a gamehigh 23 points and also added five assists, nine steals and two blocked shots. Sammie Clippinger tallied 17 points and made five steals. Shania Gelvin rounded out the match with 10 points.

The Forbes Road Lady Cardinals had a poor night of shooting but kept it together to stretch last Tuesday’s opening round of the Teddy Thanos Tournament into overtime. Losing to Frederick Force 41-37, the Cardinals were led by Shayla Carmack, who tallied 17 points, nine rebounds and eight steals. Jessica Gearhart chipped in seven points and two blocked shots, while teammate Haley Lashinksy added five point.
