John R. Kuklo Sr.

Riddlesburg, 67

John Robert Kuklo Sr., 67, Riddlesburg, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Ala.

Born May 24, 1944, in Six Mile Run, he was the son of the late Henry Sr. and Rose (Price) Kuklo. His wife of 31 years, Bona Kuklo, survives at home.

He is survived by his children: John Kuklo Jr. and Angel Kuklo, both of Hopewell; a granddaughter who was reared in the home, Tatjana Erwin, San Diego, Calif.; 12 additional grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Warren Erwin II, Russellville, Ala., and James Erwin, Ansbach, Germany; his stepchildren from a previous marriage: Garry McQuait, Wells Tannery; Tammy (McQuait) Hockenberry, Riddlesburg; Ron Mc- Quait of Langdondale and Tina ( McQuait) Shauf, Hopewell; siblings: Henry Kuklo and Albert Kuklo, both of Everett; Patricia Oaks, Bedford; Bonnie Connell, Six Mile Run; Gary Kuklo, Riddlesburg; and Evangeline Munyan, Saxton.

He was preceded in death by four siblings: Tillie Wilson, Betty Dodson, Rosemary Boyer and Fred Kuklo; and a stepson, Jeffrey Erwin.

He was a 1962 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School.

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era.

He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Bedford, and had also worked at JLG, McConnellsburg, and Lithcote, Altoona.

He enjoyed auctions, flea markets, making woodcrafts, spending time with family, debating, learning about history and the Bible, and watching the news.
