Carol Ramsey would like to thank everyone for their prayers as she underwent cancer treatments. She is doing much better and appreciates the prayers of so many.

Roger and Pat Ramsey hosted Christmas Day dinner for Charles, Linda and Casey McQuait, Craig, Tricia, Mason and Alex Long, and Trudy Fix.

John and Gail Young hosted Christmas Eve dinner for Tom, Mamie and Tim Streightiff, Kenny, Kristi and Jase Watkins, Huldah and Betty Streightiff and Shawn, Cody, Elle and Alle Young, and Katie Young.

Enjoying Christmas Day lunch with Tom and Mamie Streightiff were Dusty, Lucy and Sarah Ramsey of Franklinville, N.Y.; Kenny, Kristi and Jase Watkins, Jen Ramsey, and Tim Streightiff.

Gordon and Donna Locke hosted Christmas Eve dinner for Adam, Toryn, Cameron and Brayden Locke, James Locke, Justin Locke, Ruth Grissinger, Heather and George Locke, and Irene Park.

Recent visitors with Steve and Karen Grissinger and family were Dan, Kolton and Alayna Gaff, Brent Carlson, Tom, Tim and Mamie Streightiff, Buzz and Bea Covert, Ramon and Tammy Martin, and Gordon and Donna Locke.

Tim, Tracey and Tanner Fields visited with the Grissinger family on Friday evening. Tanner is a cute little guy with big blue eyes and really enjoys those farm tractors.

Tom, Mamie and Tim Streightiff visited with Stanley and Sue Hall the Monday after Christmas to check out Stanley’s Christmas gifts.

We are thankful for the prayers of safety for Melanie Myers, who had an early morning accident just before Christmas.

Buzz and Bea Covert, Shaine, Kean and Miah Goshorn, and Travis and Angela Madden were New Year’s Eve guests in the home of Fred and Sharon Horne.

A spaghetti dinner benefit hosted by Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. will be held for Mike and Brenda Park on January 7 beginning at 4 p.m. Eatin or takeouts available for a donation. All proceeds will go to the family. Angel Wings will be collecting desserts for the benefit. Please contact Ruth Grissinger at 814-447-5521 if you are interested in helping with desserts.

Orbisonia United Methodist Church will restart Saturday breakfast gatherings and also the Friday Night Jam events at the outreach center. Dates will be posted as they become available.

Orbisonia United Methodist Church will also be once again hosted the Saturday night checkers games beginning at 5:30 p.m. Held the last Saturday of each month, this activity is open to the public.

Our deepest sympathy is extended to the Linford “Tim” Smith family.

John and Carol Puskarich, of Penn Central P.T., would like to share the news with the community their first grandson, James Puskarich, son of Tom and Alaina Puskarich, was born on December 30 at 10:50 a.m. He will be celebrating the New Year with his cousins Lia Grace and Audrey Katherine.

Angel Wings would like to thank those that made holiday donations this year. This organization would not exist without the compassion, caring, and giving spirit of this community. May your blessings be many and your donations go far.

The PA Farm Show officially begins this week. Terri Grissinger, who teaches at Huntingdon Area High School, would like to encourage you to visit the Lancaster Farming Web page and view the “Today’s Agriculture” FFA video for the Standing Stone FFA and then cast a vote for their video at the Lancaster Farming booth at the Farm Show. The video, which features PA beef, is also available for viewing at the Farm Show.

As we enter 2012, we need to remain diligent in our prayers for guidance as the presidential election process begin.
