Richard D. Rhoades
Richard Daniel Rhoades, 68, Orbisonia, died at 1:30 a.m., Saturday, December 24, 2011, at his home in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County.
Born August 8, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., he was the son of the late Henry and Emma (Farkas) Rhoades. He was married to Jessie Rush on November 20, 1962. She survives at their home.
He is survived by four children: Billy Rhoades, Phoenix, Ariz.; Stacy Senft and husband Jon, Orbisonia; Brian Rhoades and companion Karen Pine, Orbisonia; and Shannon Rhoades Cornelius, Shirleysburg, Pa.; six grandchildren: Matthew, Jelahn, Alyssa, Dane, Alexandra and Christian; one great-granddaughter; two brothers and three sisters: Bennett Rhoades, Fredrick, Md.; Dorsia Harter, Canada; Karen Toth, Wyano, Pa.; Mary Bonneau, Ill.; and Samuel Robert Rhoades, Fredrick, Md.
A brother, Henry Rhoades and a sister, Shirley Alexander, preceded him in death.
He was of the Protestant faith.
A bricklayer by trade, he was self-employed in the construction business. He also enjoyed farming.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Rev. Kenneth Cornelius officiated. Interment was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Three Springs.
