Parker Hann, 82, Harrisonville, died Sunday, December 25, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Harrisonville, June 11, 1929, the son of the late Reuben C. and Della (Schetrompf) Hann. He was the husband of Alice H. (Helsel) Hann, whom he married on May 29, 1950.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Brownson during the Korean War, was a member of Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, VFW Post# 655 of Mc- Connellsburg, Teamsters Union in Harrisburg, and also was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was a barber in Mc- Connellsburg, for a number of years, a retired millwright from Mack Truck in Hagerstown, Md., after working there for 16 years and was a farmer all of his life.
He also was instrumental in starting Great Cove Golf Course in McConnellsburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Mary Louise Vance of Harrisonville; a brother, Reuben D. Hann of Harrisonville; half-sister Audrey Weeder of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sons Rory Parker and Timothy David Hann, sister Dorothy Carl and brothers Herbert and Harold Hann.
Services will be held at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011, with Pastor William Swope officiating.
Interment will be at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore.
There will be visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the church.
Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
