James W. McKeever
He was born in Morgantown, W. Va., on October 16, 1921, the son of the late Ernest and Elma (Albright) McKeever.
He was a World War II veteran serving aboard the USS Savannah, and was a police officer in West Virginia before moving to Pennsylvania where he worked for a number of years in sales. He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry and also was an avid golfer.
He was a longtime member of the Cedar Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, Pa., the James W. Bowers Masonic Lodge #173 in Hancock, Md., and the Harrisburg Consistory.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice Jean (Hess) McKeever, son James Michael (husband of Beverly) McKeever of Hagerstown; daughters: Joan Elaine (wife of Willie) Paken of Bisbee Ariz.; Cathy Jean (wife of Larry) Blackburn of Bel Air, Md.; Jacqueline Lynn (wife of Steve) Clower of Inwood, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Fullerton.
Funeral services were held at Cedar Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 with chaplain Dick Bernhard and Pastor John Godissart officiating.
Interment will be at Cedar Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
A Masonic service was held on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military services were conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
