Legislative Redistricting Takes Effect Dec. 2012

Hess, Eichelberger continue to serve countians

Eichelberger Eichelberger Fulton countians are not slated to see any changes in their state representation beginning in late 2012 aside from possible enhanced services locally.

As a followup to the 2010 Census, the state Legislative Reapportionment Commission recently undertook the Hess task of redrawing the territories overseen by Pennsylvania’s senators and representatives. After several revisions, the maps for the 50 Senatorial districts and the 203 House districts were finalized and approved by the panel early last week to take effect on December 1, 2012.

Rep. Dick Hess of the 78th House District and Sen. John Eichelberger Jr., representing the 30th Senatorial District, saw a shift in their overall territory in an eastwardly direction. However, both officials will continue to represent Fulton County on a state level.
