McConnellsburg Boosters Club, along with coach Toby McGarvey and assistant coach Josh McKelvey, held their annual season-end party and awards night last week for the McConnellsburg girls varsity soccer team.

Jim and Erma Chamberlain will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary December 24.

Ruth and Wanda Souders and Kay McGarvey and family enjoyed an early Christmas dinner Sunday at Michele Horton’s and family in Waynesboro. Michele is Ruth’s granddaughter. Mi- Her late mother, Pat Kendall, passed away 24 years ago on the same date from a pedestrian accident.

McConnellsburg High and Middle School held their annual Christmas choral concert last Wednesday evening, performing before a full house with lots of good talent and music.

Niki Truax Beall of Colorado visited recently with her grandparents, Grant and Evelyn Souders and Guy and Wanda Truax, and attended brother Matt’s wedding. Rodney and Stacy Truax of Berkeley Springs are her parents.

McConnellsburg and Cito Methodist Church choirs held their Christmas musical Saturday evening at Cito Methodist Church and Sunday in McConnellsburg. They did a great job.

Janet Geyer had a luncheon last Monday or the girls in her high school class. Those attending were Sharon Glazier, Naomi Waite, Kathleen O’Connor, Dorothy Potter, Pat Horton, Kay McGarvey and Marie Richards.

Sally Sowers is home recuperating after spending several weeks in the hospital with injuries she received in a car accident.

The Jacobs Brothers of Dillsburg sang at the Sideling Hill Christian Church on Sunday evening. Their music was enjoyed by all.

The Eagles Club held its annual children’s Christmas party on Sunday with around 100 children attending.

It Happened This Week: The first White House Christmas tree was put up in 1889.
