The weather was a little chilly, but still was nice for folks to get out and do that Christmas shopping.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a regular shooting match Saturday, December 24, at

1 p.m. Shells will be furnished and prizes awarded. The volunteer firemen and the ladies auxiliary want to wish everyone a safe and wonderful Christmas season.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Lonnie Crouse who passed away recently.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a New Year’s hog shoot Saturday, December 31, at 1 p.m. Eleven regular rounds to qualify for hog shoot. Various meat prizes will be awarded. No guns with less than a 640 choke and no sleeved guns will be permitted. Shells will be furnished. Guns may be checked.

Sorry to hear LaRue Shaw is not doing so well. We would like to send get well wishes her way.

Jenn Barnes is on the ill list, too. So get well wishes to him.

We extend our sympathy to the family and relatives of Stacey Bender who passed away due to cancer.

Kate Berkstresser spent Sunday to Monday with the Robert and June Bennett family in Carlisle. Other visitors in the same home were Gary and Barbara Torcasco and family of Harrisburg; James and Corine Bennett and daughter of Carlisle and Adam and Sandra Holt and daughters of Philadelphia.

Household hint: If your artistic youngster used your refrigerator door as a canvas for his permanent marker, try lighter fluid to remove the artwork.Then wash the door with soap and water and rinse completely.
