New Latter-day Saint Missionary

Sister Mary Gritis, a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, served in the Hancock area for five months before being assigned to another location. Sister Whitney Egbert has joined Sister Melissa Palmer in serving the Hancock Ward.

Sister Egbert, from Puyallup, Wash., spent the first 10 months of her mission for the church at the Damascus and Odenton wards in the Frederick and Annapolis Stakes, respectively. She has a younger brother, still in high school, and a younger sister working in retail.

Sister Egbert, who is mostly self-taught, started a portrait photography business specializing in infants, children and families, as well as high school photos.

Sister Egbert’s hobbies while at home include reading and watching movies from a wide variety of genre. She also enjoys participating in water sports, such as wakeboarding and boating. One of her favorite things to do is to spend time with her family.

Upon completion of her 18-month mission, Sister Egbert plans to attend Brigham Young University for graphic design and photography.
