Berkeley County Board Of Education Honors Former County Resident

This award was presented during the December 5, 2011, board meeting. On December 5, 2011, Dr. Bill Queen, president of the Berkeley County Board of Education presented Alison Reed with the ACE (A Caring Educator) Award. This prestigious award is awarded yearly to one educator in the Berkeley County school system. Reed was nominated by Kim Agee, principal, Eagle School Intermediate, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Reed has taught fifth grade in the Martinsburg, W.Va., area for 12 years, including 11 years at the Eagle School Intermediate, Martinsburg, W.Va. She is a graduate of McConnellsburg High School and Shippensburg University, and has completed graduate courses at Walden, Shepherd, and West Virginia Universities. In addition to teaching fifth grade for Berkeley County public schools, she also teaches first and second graders in the migrant program for the Lincoln Intermediate, Adams County, Pa. She also continues to work at the Crazy Horse Steak House on the weekends. She is the daughter of Jerry and Debbie Reed and LeeAnn Kendall.
