Wilson College Gallery Exhibits Staff And Faculty Artwork
A reception to mark the opening of the Wilson College biannual staff/faculty art exhibition will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, in the Bogigian Gallery on the second floor of Lortz Hall. The exhibit, presented by the Department of Fine Arts and Dance, will continue through Feb. 3, 2012.
The exhibition promises to be a diverse show of traditional as well as nontraditional work, featuring paintings, photographs, prints and drawings, along with conceptual and utilitarian objects. The objective of the exhibition is to be inclusive rather than exclusive, while maintaining a high standard of quality in created objects of any medium, according to Philip Lindsey, Wilson associate professor of fine arts.
“Staff and faculty shows are always a mixed bag with work usually ranging from traditional to outrageous, but they also offer an insightful glimpse into the working minds of those who have been charged with teaching and supporting tomorrow’s leaders,” said Lindsey.
Bogigian Gallery, named in honor of college benefactor Hagop Bogigian, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free. For additional information or an appointment, contact Philip Lindsey at 717-264-4141, Ext. 3305.
