Paul MacDonald recently was in Boston for the Jaslin 50 years Medalist Study at Diabetes Research Center. He was awarded their 50- year medal four years ago for having 50-plus years of Type I diabetes. The center likes to do followup research every three to four years. Paul is continuing with the study, with hope it will benefit some future generation with Type I.

Sympathy goes out to the family of Charles “Charlie” Reeder, who passed away last week.

Noreen Mann, along with her family, three children, five grandchildren and her greatgranddaughter, recently travelled to Boston, Mass. They visited the Freedom Trail, Boston College, Finley Park and other points of interest. A great time was had by all.

Public Opinion girls volleyball all- stars were first team: Emily Watson, Rikki Green, McConnellsburg; Whitney Ritz, Southern Fulton. Honorable mention went to: Marleigh Jennings, Gabby Danner and Jessica Nero, McConnellsburg; and Abby Hawkins, Southern Fulton.

Mike and Stacey Clevenger and family, Ida Strait, Shari and Mark Washabaugh, Mack, Alicia and Cassandra, Andrea and Jr. Metz of New York, Courtney and Neil Beakett of North Carolina and Jessica Holtery enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and dinner at the home of Lisa and Wade Kemp’s home in Shippensburg.

Ronnie Snepp, Tim Wright and Mike Belcher, Tennessee hunters who returned this year to hunt, visited with Ida Strait and all the friends they have made over the 30 years of hunting in the area.

McConnellsburg High School volleyball coach Heidi Johnston was named Public Opinion Coach of the Year.

Katelynn Mellott, Hannah Ott and Emily Wenschoff sang on Saturday night at a recital in Calvary Bible Church of Greencastle. They are students at McConnellsburg High School.

Fulton County Society of Farm Women Christmas party was held Sunday at New Fort Restaurant.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be at their station on old Route 30 December 18 through December 24, starting at 6 p.m.

Sandy Novak, Joycelyn Strait, Aime Bumback and Jodi Hann enjoyed a trip on Monday to New York to see the Rockettes perform.

Lee and Mary Jane Carbaugh Teeters of Shippensburg held their annual Christmas family dinner on Sunday in the community building where they reside. Jane was formerly from here. Many relatives and friends from the area attended. A great time was had by all.

Forbes Road held its Snowball dance on Saturday at the school. Named junior high king and queen were Cordell Strait and Braylin Hohman. Senior high king and queen were Rielly Barnett and Olivia Mills.
